BORA Adjustable Speedhorse XT Two Pack: The Fastest Heavy-Duty Sawhorse for South African Trades

BORA Adjustable Speedhorse XT Two Pack: The Fastest Heavy-Duty Sawhorse for South African Trades

Posted: 5th April, 2026  - Written By: Zain Moosa

Every job starts and ends with setting up and packing down, and conventional sawhorses waste a surprising amount of that time. The BORA Adjustable Speedhorse XT Two Pack (model PM-4550T) is built to fix that. Each heavy-duty steel sawhorse opens in about 1.6 seconds, adjusts in height to suit the task, and supports up to 816 kg. Together, the pair gives you a strong, stable work surface anywhere on site.

BORA Speedhorse XT key features

Sets up in seconds. Each Speedhorse XT deploys in about 1.6 seconds, which BORA rates as 30 times faster than a conventional sawhorse. Less time on setup means more time on the actual work.

Folds in any order. The quick-collapse steel legs fold non-sequentially, so you can pack down in whatever order is quickest, without fiddling with catches in a set sequence.

Adjustable working height. Set the height anywhere from 762 mm to 914 mm (30" to 36") to match the task, whether you're cutting sheet material, assembling frames or simply working at a comfortable height that saves your back.

816 kg capacity per sawhorse. Each unit supports up to 816 kg (1,800 lb), which BORA says is the highest capacity in its class. That's enough for heavy timber, stacked boards, doors and steel components.

Long, pre-drilled top. The 1,143 mm (45") top is pre-drilled, so you can screw on a length of timber as a sacrificial work surface. Cut straight through your workpiece without damaging the sawhorse or your blade.

Built for site conditions. The heavy-duty steel frame and high-visibility orange finish are designed to handle tough job site use, and the design won a 2019 Pro Tool Innovation Award.

Who uses the BORA Speedhorse XT?

Carpenters and roofers. Support long timber for cutting rafters, trusses, decking and framing. Screw a length of timber to the top as a sacrificial surface and cut straight through.

Kitchen installers and shopfitters. Lay full sheets of board, melamine and MDF across the pair to cut panels, carcasses and countertops to size on site, at a comfortable height.

Ceiling and drywall installers. Cut and prepare ceiling and drywall board without kneeling on the floor, then fold the horses away in seconds when the room needs clearing.

Painters and decorators. Lay doors, shutters and cupboard fronts flat for sanding, priming and spraying.

Flooring installers and tilers. Create a quick cutting station for laminate, vinyl plank and skirting, or a stable base for prep work.

Building contractors and maintenance teams. Set up a temporary workbench anywhere on site in seconds, and carry the pair between jobs with ease.

Three ways to set up your Speedhorse XT

Instant workbench. Lay a sheet of board or a solid-core door across both sawhorses for a full-size work surface that's ready in seconds.

Sheet cutting station. Screw sacrificial timber to both tops, lay your sheet on top and cut through with a circular or track saw. The sheet stays supported on both sides of the cut, so offcuts don't drop and splinter.

Long material support. Use the adjustable height to line up both horses with your saw table or mitre saw bench, so long lengths of timber, pipe or profile stay level while you cut.

Benefits on site

More billable time. Setting up and packing down in seconds, several times a day, adds up to real time saved across a week.

Safer, more accurate cuts. A stable, level, height-adjusted surface keeps material supported and your body in a comfortable position, so you cut straighter and with less strain.

Handles heavy loads with confidence. With 816 kg capacity per sawhorse, the pair easily takes full sheets of board, heavy doors and stacked timber.

Easy to transport and store. The pair folds flat for the bakkie or the storeroom, ready for the next job.
