We’re thrilled to announce that CIB Partners is now the exclusive importer and distributor of Temple Tool Co. in South Africa, a premium range of Japanese woodworking hand tools that blend Western innovation with traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
Temple Tool Co. was co-founded by Takashi Morita and Chris Schoenberg (known for Third Coast Craftsman). Together, they’ve created a line of saws, chisels, and woodworking tools that unite Japanese precision and Western design sensibility. Each tool is designed in the USA and handcrafted in historic Japanese cities by skilled artisans — offering unmatched performance, balance, and beauty.
The range will make its official debut at the Makers Festival SA on 8 & 9 November 2025 at The Ostrich in Cape Town — Africa’s first hands-on festival for creativity and craftsmanship.
Visitors will have the chance to try Temple Tool Co. saws firsthand in live demonstrations, and to meet co-founder Takashi Morita, who will be joining us in person to share insights on Japanese woodworking techniques and tool design.
The Makers Festival celebrates creativity, skill, and the joy of making — values that perfectly mirror the Temple Tool Co. philosophy. Every saw embodies the harmony between precision engineering and handmade tradition, designed for woodworkers who care deeply about the tools they use.
Whether you’re a professional furniture maker, passionate hobbyist, or simply curious about Japanese woodworking, this is your opportunity to experience something truly special.
Join us at Makers Festival SA — meet Takashi Morita, explore the Temple Tool Co. range, and discover why these tools have become a benchmark for quality and craftsmanship around the world.
